Prior to joining ESET in 2005, Abrams held various security positions at Microsoft during his 12 year tenure. Abrams designed and administered the processes used by Microsoft to ensure that no software was infected upon release, and worked with ISPs to help promote online consumer safety. He also worked closely with the Microsoft Security Response Center and provided internal malware education. Abrams has presented at over a dozen international anti-virus conferences and is a vice president on the board of directors for the Association of anti Virus Asia Researchers (AAVAR). He also served as Vice President and General Manager of Compaq's Worldwide Peripherals Division. David holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University. He also holds seven patents pertaining to advanced disk drive technology.
